TFALAC held its 2021 annual event on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the Farm Bureau Expo Center in Lebanon, Tennessee. TFALAC uses all of the net proceeds from its fund raising events to provide support for advancing the organization’s legislative agenda which includes providing financial support for state legislative candidates who strongly advocate for the real purpose of the Second Amendment.
The annual event is a dinner and auction event that grows each year in popularity, sponsorships and support because it is a proven conservative organization in Tennessee. This year the event and table sponsors included Lee Beaman, James Peach, Cyndi and Tracy Miller, and A. J. McCall, Congressman John Rose, Congressman Mark Green, Senator Mark Pody, Representative Clay Doggett, Representative Bruce Griffey, Representative Rusty Grills, Representative Jay Reedy, Representative Chris Todd, Representative Terri Lynn Weaver, Beretta, Rusty Oak Armory and many others.
Chief Warrant Officer 5 (retired) Doug Englen, who retired from the U.S. Army in 2020 as the Senior Warrant Advisor to the Secretary of the Army in Washington, D.C., after more than 33 years of military service was the featured speaker. Doug Englen retied as the most decorated aviator in the Army with over 7,000 hours of fixed and rotary wing flight time. He was involved in 34 combat tours and over 2,500 missions in engagements including Operation Desert Shield / Desert Storm, Provide Comfort, Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq and multiple classified locations. His awards include: 2 Silver Star Medals, Legion of Merit, 3 Distinguished Flying Cross Medals, 2 Bronze Star Medals 2 Meritorious Service Medals, 4 Army Achievement Medals , Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, Humanitarian Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal, NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, Master Aviator Badge, Air Assault Badge and Parachutist Badge.
Part of Doug Englen’s statements were picked up in this quote from the report by Laura Baigert with the Tennessee Star:
“Five months prior is when he was brought into the team to start the planning, and the President was briefed three times to ask permission to perform the mission, said Englen.
As everyone sat there quietly and listening intently, they were probably not prepared for what Englen said next that has particular relevance at this time, although he was aware of the potential backlash for revealing it.
There was one gentleman that was in the room that left an everlasting impression with me.
Not a good impression.
He was the number one individual in the room that was not focused, did not have the ability to think multi-lateral, didn’t know how to even remember what policy meant. He was part of the mission, before it was staged.
That individual was pulled off the mission. He was kicked off the mission to kill Bin Laden because his inability to be a part of the team and to support the Constitution and to support U.S. foreign policy.
And that is who our President is today. That’s who was kicked off the mission prior to executing the capture and kill of Bin Laden.
I share that with you today, because it’s very damning to his accreditation and his abilities and not to mention it’s something that is long-lived.
So, I share that with you today, and I’m probably going to get some blowback.
The TFALAC Annual event included numerous other memorable statements from various legislators who spoke at the event as well. Rep. Bruce Griffey who got a huge response from the crowd when he asked how many wanted the Legislature to come back and pass REAL constitutional carry in 2022. Representative Terri Lynn Weaver also received perhaps a louder response when she asked how many wanted the Legislature to be called back now for a special session.
If you are looking for an even that raises money to support real constitutional conservatives this is it.
Reserve the date of September 3, 2022 because we are already planning the next event! Please consider being a sponsor or vendor in the battle to restore our rights back to a position of constitutional significance.
